Most Americans celebrate their freedom to choose some form of bondage. We can do better and in 2018, let’s have real freedom!

Freedom is priceless—let’s not accept substitutes, like freedom from pain while enslaved by drugs that relieve pain which often comes from some food or drink that we could live without. Drugs only cure symptoms and often perpetuate a bad-habit lifestyle.

At the core of any addiction are physiologic principles that can help us as millions who have already quit. NEW START is an acronym for Nutrition, Exercise, Water,
Sunlight, Temperance, Air, Rest and Trust in Nature and God.

Timing is important. Start your break for freedom on Thursday evening, December 28. Have a light early supper and go for a long walk. Take some deep breaths and think of your choice to quit and if you believe in God ask Him to help you. This even works for some who aren’t sure!

Take a warmish hot soak in the tub to relax muscle tension and take an herbal sleep aid if you anticipate trouble sleeping. Good sleep is a key to a good start for Friday and set the alarm 20 minutes early.

In the morning, take a 5-min fresh air walk, and 10 min for a hot shower, but cut the hot water off first for 10-20 seconds of cold as you rub your body with a cold wash cloth!

This will wake your body up without caffeine that Dr. Pavlov said is ‘bad-habit glue.’ We need to break all addictions, not just our worst one. They will drop off easier with no caffeine that triggers a craving for smoke or drink and for this first day we want to skip breakfast that triggers craving for a smoke. Your willpower will be stronger without food in your stomach.

The craving for any addiction is physiologic and it can be helped stalling it off with the following strategy every time you get the urge or craving.

#1. Repeat your choice—I have chosen not to (smoke/drink)this day. Snap a rubber band on your wrist to associate urge and pain

#2. Take 5 deep breaths, sucking the air in till you can’t get any more and keep doing it for 5 seconds, squeeze it all out till you can’t get any more out and hold it for 5 seconds. Do it 5 times.

#3. Take 5 ounces of water (full mouth) — think of it as flushing nicotine or other drugs out of your kidneys to cleanse the blood.

#4. Take a 5 minute walk around the block or to the corner.
The fresh air, sunlight and exercise will help cut the craving.

#5. Ask God as you believe in Him to take the urge away. Call a spouse or buddy who is sympathetic with your quitting (not your drinking partner or someone with the habit.)

Do these five things every time you get the urge which will peak on the third day and you will be over the hump by day 4 or 5.

It is best to fast with no food the first day. Eat fresh fruit to help the body initiate the cleansing process on the 2^nd day.

The third day, have a good breakfast with fruit, whole grain cereal or toast. Avoid fried foods, meat and any spicy foods.

Avoid the easy chair where you usually sit to enjoy a smoke. Think of everything you do as part of your strategy for quitting. If your buddies have the habit you are quitting, avoid them for now until you get stabilized in your new habit of non-usage, etc.

Think of 5 things every day to thank God for—including your freedom from addictions and natural remedies for NEW START Be cautious about everything related to your former habits, even if it means making new friends and leaving some behind. Failed Jubilee; Daughter of Holocaust Survivor Deported, But Is Israel Just For Jews?

The Jewish right to Jerusalem is soon to be revoked, based on Jewish prophets Daniel and Zechariah.

Millions of Jews were wondering if 2017 would be a jubilee echo of the Balfour Declaration in 1917 and the Six Day War 50 years later in 1967. But 2017 is disappointing with daughter of a holocaust survivor deported because her father became a Christian (Newsweek 11-21-17).

Is Israel just for Jews? asks Dr. Richard Ruhling, an author with Jewish roots. He says the Tannach (Old Testament) quotes God as giving Abraham the land from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates for his “seed” or children, Genesis 15. Ruhling offers further information…

Christians should have a 5 to 1 advantage in claiming the Middle East as their land because they are descendants of the ten-tribe northern kingdom of Israel while only two tribes (Judah and Benjamin) represent Jews not so scattered. But Jeremiah 30,31 promises all a return!

The northern kingdom established a false center of worship in Dan because Jereboam did not want them to establish sympathies with Judah while attending holy days in Jerusalem after the split caused by the high taxes of Solomon’s son.

God scattered Israel among the nations and many intermarried with Christians in Europe and fled papal oppression for freedom in the New World. They continue the idea of a false center of worship on Sunday, a day having only pagan roots from sun worship as opposed to the Sabbath defined in the 4^th Commandment of Exodus 20.

But that commandment also shows God’s regard for “the stranger within your gates,” meaning that God wanted non-Jews to be blessed by a day off—“the Sabbath was made for man.” The Jews made it a burden of legalistic compliance to earn a standing with God by an outward show of merit while inwardly they were full of malice seen by their crucifying their Messiah as foretold first by Abraham (“God will provide Himself a sacrifice”), Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53.

Yeshua said we would be judged and treated as we judge and treat others. To deport a daughter of the Holocaust shows nothing has changed in 2000 years, and if genetic Jews in Israel would read Zechariah 14, they might see their title to Jerusalem is about to be revoked.

The return of Jews was premature; Leviticus 26 mandates a 7-fold punishment for Israel’s 390 years of apostasy cited in Ezekiel 4:5,6.

7 x 390 = 2730 years that began with the Assyrian captivity in 722 BCE. Subtracting 722 from 2730 years would be 2008, but with no year “0” it’s 2009 and the UN gift of land for Israel should not have been taken as a sign to return. 1948 was premature.

The UN is a catholic (universal) organization that favors a melting pot of many peoples, like Babylon or Babel where languages were confused; the UN is not God’s way of helping Israel.

God intended that land for Abraham’s seed in Genesis 15. Paul said, “If you are Christ’s, you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise [of land].” Galatians 3:29.

In the end-time, God is going to put Judah (Jews who accept the Messiah) together with Israel (10 tribes that were scattered among the nations and represent Christians who accept biblical laws). This is the imagery of dry bones and two sticks that come together in Ezek 37.

Those two groups will be fully compatible after a shaking– an earthquake that initiates end-times as seen in Joel 2:10,11; Zechariah 14:1,5.

This end-time gathering is also seen in Jeremiah 30:3, where God “will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah…and cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.”

“I am with you to save you…though I make a full end of all other nations…in the latter days you shall consider it,” Jeremiah 30:11,24. This is the context for the New Covenant Promise in Jeremiah 31.

When the New World Order is set up, aliyah, (returning) will be appropriate for Jews and Christians like 7^th-day Adventists who honor the Sabbath of the Bible.

New World Order must allow for freedom of religion initially, but compelling force seen in Revelation 13:15-17. The coming trouble will be better in the land of the covenant where God will defend His covenant as He said in Exodus 34:10,11.

In the meantime, watch for Jerusalem to be compassed with armies—the warning given by Yeshua who was a Jew and loved His brethren—that’s why He died, and the prophecies of Daniel 9 show it was right on time, totally missed by the Jewish leaders protecting status quo.

NBC Reports 50 Workers Fired For Refusing Flu Shot In Spite Of “Ineffective” Data

Flu shots are ineffective; boosting the body’s defenses is a key to prevention.

“Why not sue the hospital?” asks Dr. Richard Ruhling, a retired physician whose 40-year practice of medicine was not inhibited by his getting the flu, with one exception.

Ruhling also has a Masters Degree in Public Health and understands epidemiology most winters when people’s immunity is low from the holidays’ high sugar intake because it reduces the phagocytic index of the white blood cells. The while cells prefer sugar and get lazy, so they won’t eat the germs.

Rather than cake and ice cream, we should be eating oranges and grapefruits that have Vitamin C, and recent evidence suggests Vitamin D is also more important than flu shots.

Working in Emergency Room one evening, Ruhling noted the onset of a scratchy throat, general achiness and feeling of a chill with a runny nose. His temperature was normal.

Recalling microbiology class, and how viruses may be arrested or killed better with fever, Ruhling took a break and filled a tub with water as hot as he could stand.

Immersing himself for 20 minutes, he got his temperature up to 102.5 He sat up, and as the water was draining from the tub, he poured cold water over himself because he was taught that a contrast of hot and cold can double the white blood count—twice as many soldier cells to fight the germs.

Ruhling ate no supper. He would have taken some Vitamin C if he had it, but he felt well enough to finish seeing ER patients and at 11 PM, Ruhling thought the bath had helped him, so he took another one. In the morning, his symptoms were gone; the flu was aborted.

In retrospect, Ruhling remembered that a Phys. Ed. Teacher told him in high school to end his hot shower with cold to stimulate immunity.

A leading health website lists many articles questioning the efficacy of flu shots. An overview of a “Flu Shot” search on Mercola.com might daunt anyone’s wish for a flu shot. Dr. Joseph Mercola is a physician who understands the dangers of medical care. Here’s a sample…

Vitamin D deficiency may actually be a major cause of influenza. If one is severely vitamin D deficient, vitamin D supplements may be 10 times more effective than flu vaccine. Vitamin D is the sunshine vitamin but maybe by mid-winter, Vitamin D storage in the body is depleted. Congress yields to pharmaceutical pressure to restrict vitamins while their drugs are a leading cause of illness and death due to adverse reacations. JAMA, 4-15-1998; Archives of Internal Medicine, Sep 10, 2007, p 1752.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revealed between 2005 and 2015, The influenza vaccine was less than 50% effective more than half of the time; During the 2015/2016 flu season, FluMist, the live virus nasal spray, had a failure rate of 97%.

If it was 100% effective half the time, that would mean that half the people vaccinated got the flu. To say it was 50% effective half the time, suggests that it was 25% effective while 75% of those who were vaccinated got the flu. But it’s effectiveness was “less” and they aren’t saying or admitting how bad it is. And for the FluMist, nearly all who got it also got the flu—could we dare say they got it because they took the mist?

Skip the goodies. Thanking God for oranges is not just for Thanksgiving–Dr. Selye, father of the modern stress theory said gratitude is the most healing of all emotions. Take a sun bath—you’ll have far less risk this flu season!

Marcia Angell, MD, editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, told 60 Minutes that Congress got $400 million a year in gifts from drug companies. The Bible said a gift blinds the eyes of the wise.

The wedding parables show a sudden event beyond which there is no time to get ready. The midnight cry in Matthew 25 echoes Egypt’s calamity in Exodus 12. Recommendations for Drug Treatment of 130/80 (Normal) Blood Pressure Are Not Good

“Let the buyer beware” might be a better slogan than “Ask your doctor.”

“Six facts should caution patients re new ‘guidelines’ for MDs to prescribe their drugs” (Washington Post, 11-13-17) says Richard Ruhling, a retired physician who was board-certified in internal medicine and taught at Loma Linda Univ, offers the following information.

#1. About 40 years ago the Modem Concepts of Cardiovascular Disease published by the American Heart Association for cardiologists offered this insight: “Unless the arterial pressure is inordinately high (105 diastolic [bottom number]), therapy should begin by environmental modification [food, beverages, exercise, sleep, stress control] rather than or prior to drug treatment.” Millions of people would be better off to do so.

#2. There is no evidence that blood pressure made low by drugs has the same low risk as a person whose blood pressure is low from positive habits mentioned above. The same may be said for cholesterol. People who eat wisely and have a low cholesterol are better off than those who take a prescription to make it low. This is true for blood sugar as well. People who eat well and have good glucose levels have lower risk than those who take drugs to achieve low levels, and most oral agents have been bedeviled by higher cardiac risks dating to the UGDP Study (University Group Diabetic Program) reported about 1970 that those taking orinase and diabinese had about double the cardiac risk. The names of drugs are different now, but patients should read package inserts for their drugs…still risky.

#3. Also about 40 years ago, Nathan Pritikin reported at the American College of Cardiology Convention that his low fat diet got 85% of patients with high blood pressure off drugs. Fats tend to make the blood sticky, so the pressure goes up. Caffeine was also forbidden by Pritikin and his diet got a similar number of Type 2 diabetics off their drugs, but the American Heart and American Diabetic Associations did nothing to help Pritikin, and MD’s said he hadn’t cured it because if people went off their diet, the blood pressure went up again. What happened to their Hippocratic Oath to do no harm. Food will always be safer than drugs.

#4. “In the widest sense of the word, every drug is by definition a poison. Pharmacology and toxicology are one, and the art of medicine is to use these poisons beneficially.” Drill’s Textbook of Pharmacology in Medicine, Chapter 5, Mechanisms of Drug Action. That author was reminding us that pharmacology evolved from toxicology—the science of how much of a chemical will kill half the animals. Not too much has changed.

#5. Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, was right—“Nature cures…Let your food be your medicine.” The medical system is economically driven to see as many patients as possible and having a prescription for the many presentations resulting from bad lifestyle make it easy to see a patient quickly and get on to the next one.

#6. Marcia Angell, MD was editor of the New England Journal of Medicine and he book, “The Truth About the Drug Companies; How They Deceive Us” offers insight to the problem. She told 60 Minutes decades ago that members of Congress get $400 million a year toward their re-election campaigns. Pharma was behind a large part of Obamacare. Dr. Carson was right in saying “It’s the worst thing since slavery.” How idiotic for Pelosi to say, “We have to vote it into law to find out what’s in it!” (20,000 pages) when real healthcare could be as simple as eating better and getting some exercise.

Hawking Calls for Space Travel to Escape Earth; Daniel’s Prophecy of End-Times Are Half Fulfilled

If we have most of the things that money can buy, we should check to be sure we’re not missing those things that money can’t buy.

The signs of the times are ominous, but like the frog in slowly heating water, there is a numbness to what’s coming.

Reminiscent of NASA’s Challenger, Stephen Hawking believes earth will ignite in 600 years and appealed to investors to support travel to Alpha Centauri, the nearest solar system about 4 light-years away, using a spacecraft traveling at the speed of light. (Yahoo News, 11-7-17)

For those who believe the Bible, events in the prophecies of Daniel are omens that suggest end-times are impending, says Dr. Richard Ruhling, author on current events and Bible prophecy, citing two examples.

#1. Just as news media have represented nations by political cartoons like a bear for Russia or a lion for the UK, the book of Daniel describes the kingdoms of this world as beasts of prey.

Is it only a coincidence that history has unfolded like Daniel foretold by the imagery of a lion, bear, leopard and dragon to represent Babylon (Daniel’s time), Medo-Persia, Grecia and Rome, with a little horn growing out of the Roman Empire that became great? Protestant reformers were united in their belief that the little horn in Daniel 7:25 represented the papacy.

The judgment sets in verse 9,10 in the context of the great words of the horn. What could that mean? Ruhling says when the pope spoke to the US Congress, he had great words. Ditto for the next day with great words in the UN.

The pope’s Laudato Si’ is like John Paul’s Dies Domini, puffing up Sunday for the benefits of the eucharist and calling for closing of businesses to reduce greenhouse gases as a viable reason to respect Sunday. But “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.”

Furthermore, there’s no biblical reason to support this pagan day of sun worship that the bishop of Rome blessed after the Edict of Constantine in 321 AD. Christians are misled to think the early disciples honored Sunday, but “the first day” of the week is mentioned only once in the book of Acts while the Sabbath is mentioned nine times and three of them are “every Sabbath” as any online concordance shows.

The impending times when the pope has his way with the UN, suggested by his riding the beast of New World Order in Revelation 17, will test everyone’s resolve to honor God in opposition to manmade religion with no Bible support, and it brings a more fearful warning than Hawking’s in Revelation 14.

#2. Historians say that Daniel’s vision of the ram and goat in the 8^th chapter was fulfilled when Alexander the Great conquered the Medes and Persians in the Battle of Arbela in 331 BCE. But does “history repeat”? Gabriel told Daniel that the vision is “at the time of the end.” Verse 17.

Iraq and Iran are geographically where the Medes and Persians were, so that this end-time prophecy was half fulfilled when the horn of Saddam (first ram horn) was broken.

We expect Iran to do something stupid like the terrorism they sponsor. Zechariah 14 shows Jerusalem will be attacked, “the houses rifled, the women ravished,” and this will anger the GOAT of Daniel 8—maybe Global Organization Against Terrorism.

Intelligent Design and Complexity of Life Systems Beg the Impossibility of Random Chance to Make Even a Blade of Grass or a Snowflake

Newsweek’s “CAN SCIENCE PROVE GOD DOESN’T EXIST?” (11/3/17) begs an answer that is supported by Intelligent Design, Complexity of DNA and other scientific reasons.

“Mainstream media loves to quote scientists whose theories conflict with the Bible,” says Richard Ruhling, an MD with a 2nd degree in science (chemistry). He offers the following view.

1. In this Information Age, a mathematician at the University of Texas estimated that no one knows more than 1% of all knowledge–so what are the chances of God being in the other 99% of information that some scientists aren’t looking at or who fail to see Intelligent Design?

2. The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics says the energy systems of the universe tend to run down unless acted upon by an outside Force. Call it what you like but a jumbo jet didn’t come from an explosion in a junk yard. How did nicely rounded planets come from an explosion? How did Saturn get 53 moons and Jupiter 67? Did they come from explosions there? All at once? How did life begin on earth, a sterile rock coming from the sun? How did water get here? Disbelief in the Bible begs questions that science can’t begin to address.

3. The complexity of the DNA molecule, when understood by famed atheist Antony Flew, compelled his switching to a belief in God, Google. Evolution by random molecules bumping into each other is ludicrous. And where did the molecules come from?

4. The complexity of numerous body reactions like the clotting of blood or the formation of the human eye is such that, like a mouse trap, all parts have to be there and work at the same time—it doesn’t evolve. Did women evolve at the same time that man did, so that after he evolved, they could procreate before he died? What did he eat? Did plants evolve just in time; how did they grow without his cultivating them, or what did he eat while cultivating them?

5. 55 years ago, this author attended a meeting in Washington DC where hundreds of scientists believed in the biblical account of creation. Many scientists do not, Faith is based on evidence of what we are willing to believe, but it’s not something provable. If there were ‘proof,’ then we would be forced to worship God, but force destroys love that He wanted in the relationship, just as we want children who love us as the basis of obedience, not our standing over them with a stick. For those who understand this, life is great, God is good, the Bible is true, and there’s a destiny that we should not trade for all the bickering among those who “don’t get it.”

‘Capital of Terrorism’ Has Fallen; Reflections on Religion and the Use of Force

The use of force to compel conversion to any religion is not from God who seeks our love and does not compel or force anyone.

The city chosen by ISIS for their caliphate is phonetically linked to Raca, a word that means fool, senseless, empty-headed man, worthless, in Christ’s famous Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5, says Dr. Richard Ruhling, author on current events and Bible prophecy. He offers the following comments.

The Bible is the prophetic book of God who “declares the end from the beginning,” Isaiah 46. The fall of Raqqa is an omen of the fall of all who try to force false ideologies on others. God made us in His image and He says, “Come, let us reason together.” Isaiah 1.

If God wanted forced worship, He would not need ISIS to do so. God is all powerful but He is also all wise, and He knows and love cannot be forced from others. The Golden Rule of treating others like we would want to be treated is how God is dealing with us.

Christianity teaches that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes on Him may have life. His death for us, and His ascension to heaven were witnessed by men who initially ran, but later were willing to die for their faith.

Where are the witnesses to Mohammed’s ascension? Moses (cited by Mohammed) wrote that in the mouth of two or three witnesses a matter is established, Deuteronomy 19:15. God provided the witnesses for Christ’s ascension.

Since witnesses to Muhammad’s ascension don’t exist, why should those without evidence want to blow everyone else up who don’t believe it?

Perhaps this is not fair to Muhammad who was married to Catholic Khadija and he was mentored by her uncle. This explains some similarities with Mary and Fatima prominent in both religions. The Vatican’s strategy was to drive Jews and Evangelical Christians out of Jerusalem and turn it over the papacy, but then the Arabs reneged, so we had the “Holy Wars” to get the infidels out, as stated by Alberto Rivera, former Jesuit priest, in his book, “The Prophet.” Chick Publiiations.

The Vatican (a word that means ‘divining serpent,’ Google) used force to martyr 50-80 million Protestants during the Dark Ages. Most people think it couldn’t happen in this “enlightened age.”

The genocide of a 800,000 Protestant Tutsis in Rwanda suggests otherwise. Pope Francis apologized for the role of a Catholic government under John Paul that painted the Tutsis as Communists. The UN (swarming in Kilgali) could have stopped the slaughter, but was ordered to stand down and let the local government handle it. (Search YouTube for Rwanda documentary)

Deadly Combo: Caffeine, Violent TV or Video Games & Prescription Drugs, Says MD

Mixing gateway drugs like caffeine and alcohol, with TV or video violence and Rx drugs is a prescription for disaster.

The NIH article said, “Acts of violence towards others are a genuine and serious adverse drug event,” so why does Congress give big Pharma what they want, if it isn’t because they get $400 million/year in help for their re-election campaigns? asks Ruhling, citing Dr. Marica Angell’s 60 Minutes interview years ago.

Ruhling notes that caffeine is a gateway drug that creates a need for other drugs to calm the nerves that caffeine stimulates. This is why coffee and a cigarette go so well together. Russian scientist, Dr. Pavlov called coffee “Bad Habit Glue” because people overwork, overeat, watch TV and would never get to work in time if they didn’t have their coffee to get going—it glues their bad habits together.

By the time kids get to middle school (as the Texas shooter did) they are often diagnosed as Attention Deficit Disorder and are taking prescription drugs that don’t cure the problem and can make it worse, says Ruhling who cites the NIH article that antidepressant drugs were “the most strongly and consistently implicated drugs” associated with violence.

“Video games cause violence”—type it into Google for another 15,700,000 results reported by news, professional journals and laymen. TV is the gateway media for violence with cartoons for kids and movies for adults. Knowing that the violence is fiction doesn’t alter the brain’s focus and appetite for more until some get so hyped that they do it.

“Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik [communist] forever.” – Vladimir Lenin. This might be paraphrased, “Start a kid on the legal drug, caffeine, and the mind drugs of violence or sex, and they may be ruined for life, which is why desperate parents take them for Rx drugs.”

And why do people do it? They brought their kids into the world, but are unwilling to do what is right in teaching them. Mothers join dads in the workplace for the sake of more money while they lose their kids to TV and similar social and school influences. Isn’t it time to take responsibility?

Why should women want equality in the work place when they had a better position in the home? If they don’t think so, they shouldn’t be bringing kids into the world that are their responsibility. This is not against the millions of moms who work hard because you-know-who isn’t around.

If God can bless those things that He has cursed, then may God bless America!

Rx Drugs Make Medical Care the #1 Cause of Illness & Death – It Helps Symptoms but It’s Not Healthcare

Adverse Drug Reactions (properly prescribed and administered) have made medical care the leading cause of illness and death.

“We are overlooking well-documented studies showing that adverse drug reactions are the leading cause of illness and death in the US,” says Dr. Richard Ruhling, a retired physician who was board-certified in Internal Medicine and taught Health Science at Loma Linda University. He offers the following information.

#1. The study cited by most showed 106,000 died in hospitals, and the drugs were “properly prescribed and administered.” Journal of American Med. Assoc, 4-15-98.

This begs the question, How many died at home? 199,000, according to Western Journal of Medicine, June, 2000, p 391. It said that for every person who died, 140 were adversely affected. “Drug related problems accounted for

116 million extra doctor visits
76 million additional prescriptions
17 million emergency visits
8 million hospital admissions
3 million long-term admissions
Total Cost Estimate: $76.6 billion

Totaling those who died in hospitals with those dying at home = 305,000 deaths/yr.

#2. “From 1998 through 2005, reported serious drug events increased 2.6-fold… and fatal adverse drug events increased 2.7-fold.” Archives of Internal Medicine, Sept 10 2007. That was a 7-year period, but we’ve now ~ 20 years from the above figures of 305,000. With TV drug ads approved by Congress in 1997, the underlying cause of increased drug deaths are over 2 million, more than heart disease, and this is not even addressing the opioid issue now the leading cause of death under 40.

#3. Two thirds of deaths from heart disease are in people over 75, many of whom are in nursing homes or extended care facilities where the average number of Rx’s was nine nearly a decade ago with a trend to more. The drugs may kill them, but…

When mom dies in a nursing home, the doctor usually signs her death certificate as died of heart disease. No autopsy is done to determine the cause of death. Who wants to know the coronaries aren’t blocked; a prescription may have caused it?

#4. Marcia Angell, MD, former editor of the New England Journal of Medicine wrote The Truth About the Drug Companies; How They Deceive Us. She told 60 Minutes that they spend $400 million yearly on Congress and re-election campaigns so that as one senator told this author, “They own us.”

Angell’s message is similar to the angel in Revelation 18 that says, “for by her [Babylon, a word meaning confusion] sorceries were all nations deceived.” verse 23 The Greek word for sorceries is pharmakeia, as an online concordance shows.

2000 years before the editor of a leading medical journal said it, the Bible linked deception to pharmakeia. We could be ignorant (ignoring good information) if we aren’t intelligent on the Bible.

The Spanish word for library is biblioteca—Bible tech. The Bible is like a library with history the most ancient, poetry and psalms, wisdom for business (proverbs) and principles for health and happiness. Matthew 24 has a forecast for what’s coming and a warning for those who don’t live to help others.

Islam Identified in Daniel’s Vision “at the Time of the End”

“The vision is at the time of the end,” Daniel 8:17

Islam’s ram sacrifice (Al-Adha) that commemorates Genesis 22 is seen in Daniel 8 as sparing Israel when Iran wants to drive them into the sea.

Islam teaches that Issa (Jesus) was a prophet, though they say he did not come from the grave in spite of eye witnesses in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, who initially ran but were later willing to die for a risen Christ. “Would we die for a lie?” asks Dr. Richard Ruhling, author on current events and Bible prophecy. He offers the following explanations.

When asked about the end of the world, Christ said to understand the book of Daniel—another prophet that offers a panoramic view of the world’s empires from 2500 years ago to now.

God used imagery of fierce beasts of prey to show Daniel what the kingdoms of this world are like. The lion, bear, leopard and dragon in Daniel 7 foretold the kingdoms of Babylon, Medo-Persia, Grecia and Rome. Out of the dragon (Rome) grew a little horn that became great.

The Protestant reformers (like Luther who 500 years ago protest the papal abuses), saw the little horn growing out of the Roman Empire as the papacy, doing what verse 25 described, starting with a Sunday law by Constantine in 321 that the Bishop of Rome blessed to secure unity.

Then comes Islam in Daniel 8 represented by a Muslim ram by the River Ulai (Karun River by Kuwait where US troops deployed after 9/11. The ram is pushing north (into Russia), west (into Europe and US) and south (into Africa) until it angers a goat that flies from the west to break its horns and stomp the ram.

Most readers say this was Alexander the Great that conquered the Medes and Persians because they are named in verse 20 (hundreds of years after Daniel lived.) But in a stunning view, Gabriel tells Daniel that his vision is “at the time of the end,” verse 17.

This suggests a double application as “history repeats,” and the God of the Bible is alone able to “see the end from the beginning.” (Isaiah)

The Medes and Persians are now Iraq and Iran. This vision is half fulfilled by Saddam’s death, and it also answers a huge question for Islam that comes from Abraham, father of Jews, Christians and Muslims.

Abraham was tested over his love for God and willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac. But Islam says the son was Ishmael and they celebrate the saving of Ishmael by the sacrifice of a ram in their yearly ram sacrifice, Al-Adha. So was it Isaac or Ishmael–Which is the true holy book?

Daniel 8 suggests that Islam, not content with its part of the Middle East, will be sacrificed to spare Israel in spite of Iran wanting to drive Israel into the sea. (Israel was the son of Isaac after Jacob’s name was changed), spared by the ram in Genesis 22). Only the God of the Bible could give such breath-taking details centuries before they unfold, starting in Genesis with a ram caught in a Bush!

One more question that Muslims might have. Why would God allow “the Great Satan to conquer Islam when the US brought alcohol, tobacco, drugs, Hollywood, crime, sex, violence on TV, abortion, homosexuality, all things that the Bible condemns?

Daniel’s prophecy is about how the future unfolds. America will have its own time of judgment soon and after a military victory, the US’ “horn” also gets broken.

On the positive side, Christianity is a religion of loving our neighbor–others who need our help–treating them as we would want done for us. Christianity has elevated the role of women in society above so much abuse in other regions and religions.

The recommendations are based on the underlying premise that optimal management begins in the preoperative period with an assessment of the patient and development of a plan of care tailored to the individual and the surgical procedure involved. The panel found that evidence supports the use of multimodal regimens in many situations, although the exact components of effective multimodal care will vary depending on the patient, setting, and surgical procedure. Although these guidelines are based on a systematic review of the evidence on management of postoperative pain, the panel identified numerous research gaps. Of 32 recommendations, 4 were assessed as being supported by high-quality evidence, and 11 (in the areas of patient education and perioperative planning, patient assessment, organizational structures and policies, and transitioning to outpatient care) were made on the basis of low-quality evidence.
